The research line focuses on the use of high throughput experimentation (HTE) applied to the optimization of chemical reactions and the discovery of new reactivity. In order to accelerate the development of new synthetic methodologies, organic chemists have begun to borrow screening strategies from their biochemistry and medicinal chemist´s partners. The microscale platforms used for HTE can accommodate the full range of reaction conditions that the synthetic chemist routinely uses, making them an ideal tool for the discovery and optimization of chemical reactions.
Examples of the research activities include: synthesis of impurities of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), development of novel methods for the functionalization of weakly acidic sp3 C-H bonds, multicomponent type reactions, parallel reactions in microwaves, etc.
Working area
Work area: organic chemistry, organic synthesis (with experience in asymmetric synthesis) of small and medium molecules, high throughput experimentation (HTE), green chemistry. At INTI, a small HTE center has been installed that is expected to result in the rapid development of processes transferable to the private sector in order to generate and strengthen collaborations with companies and various institutions to provide the use of HTE applied to the broadest range of transformations.
