The main area of research is cardiovascular mechanics, with emphasis on right ventricular physiology, pulmonary circulation, and ventriculo-arterial coupling, using a translational approach. On the one hand, acute animal models in acute pulmonary hypertension (pulmonary embolism, normobaric global hypoxia) with the study of the effects of Levosimendan (ino-dilator drug). On the other hand, this approach was applied in different clinical groups of patients with pulmonary hypertension using echocardiography, right heart catheterization, and intravascular ultrasound.
