The focus of my work and the topic of my PhD in chemistry is the characterization of yerba mate infusions using mass spectrometry, chromatography, and spectroscopy techniques.
Working area
I currently work as a professor, teaching courses on Toxicology and Food Safety, Basic Sciences, and the Workshop on Organic and Inorganic Contaminants, in the Bachelor's Degree in Food Analysis at UTEC, ITRSO, Paysandú campus. As a full-time professor at this university, I have served as an academic advisor on undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral theses and served on thesis defense committees. I am an active researcher in the Strategic Agrofood Research Group (GIE AA) and have been a member of the Instrumental Analysis team since 2023. At the UdelaR , FQ, I am carrying out as co-responsible a CSIC research project on "Graphene Quantum Dots for the determination of chlorogenic acids in complex matrices" (CSIC 2338), as well as a georeferenced study of the composition and of national propolis as a tool for its valorization in conjunction with INIA-FPTA together with Dr. Alejandra Rodríguez and Lic. David Menchaca (FQ-IPTP). Active researcher Grade 3 at PEDECIBA-QUÍMICA and initiation researcher at SNI.
