Leonardo A. Peyré-Tartaruga performed his studies in physical education (2000), master's degree (2003) and doctorate (2008) in sciences of the human movement at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, with doctorate (2015-2016 and 2021-2022) in the Laboratory of Physiomechanics of Locomotion of the University of Milan, Italy, and at the University of Pavia (2021-2022). He is currently an associate professor of the Universidad de Pavia (Italy), free professor of the Unidad Académica de Biofísica (grade 4, Honorary) at the Universidad de la República (UDELAR, Uruguay), professor of the specialization course of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Rio Grande do Sul and master of first level in it individualized management of the athlete in motor sports and physiology and performance in resistance sports (UNIPV, Italy). He was a visiting professor at the University of Toulon and Nice (France) in 2015, and at the University of Verona (Italy) in 2019. He was president of the Brazilian College of Sports Sciences (2009-2013). He is currently leader of the LOCOMOTION Research Group - Mechanics and Energetics of Terrestrial Locomotion (UFRGS/PAVIA). He coordinates the Human Locomotion Laboratory (LOCOLAB) at the University of Pavia. He also participates as an investigator in CoMFA/UFRGS, GPAT/UFRGS, LAPE/UDESC, HPL/Pavia and GPMCE. He is an associate editor of Frontiers in Integrative Physiology, Plos One and PeerJ, member of the editorial team of Gait Posture, Sport Sciences for Health and Brazilian Journal of Motor Behavior, and reviewer of various publications.
