Research interests
My work lies at the intersection of Model-Driven Development (MDE), which prioritizes models as a key element for connecting business experts with the IT professionals who build and maintain an organization's support systems, and Business Process Management (BPM), as a comprehensive approach to identifying, evaluating, automating, and optimizing business and IT processes. In this context, I focus on methodologies, techniques, and tools for building software that supports organizational operations and continuous improvement.
Within this framework, I am particularly interested in the following areas:
(1) Process Mining: a data-driven discipline that analyzes IT system event logs to discover, monitor, and improve business processes by identifying deviations, bottlenecks, and redesign opportunities based on actual execution.
(2) Agent-Based Business Process Management: implementation and execution of AI-based autonomous software agents to support BPM activities, enabling adaptive coordination, intelligent decision support, and advanced automation in complex and collaborative process ecosystems.
