PEDECIBA Matemática promotes research in mathematics and the high-level academic training of Master's and Doctorates. 

It has trained more than 100 graduate students and it has world renowned mathematical research groups. 

The strict criteria for selecting researchers, Postdocs and students, are the source of excellence and recognized prestige in this field.

PEDECIBA Matemática emphatically supports the dissemination of mathematical knowledge, sponsoring projects such as: 
Publicaciones Matemáticas del Uruguay, Acortando Distancias program, the Coloquio Uruguayo de Matemática,  and widely different academic events. 

It should be noted especially that PEDECIBA has supported our library, the acquisition of bibliography and journal subscriptions.

The prominence of PEDECIBA Matemática in our community is as important as if it were the Uruguayan Mathematical Society.
