Study of the response of plants to pathogens. On the one hand, the study of the response to fungi using the moss Physcomitrium patnes as model plants and Botrytis cinerea as a pathogenic fungus, with emphasis on transcriptional regulation and secondary metabolism. On the other hand, the study of diseases caused by viruses and bacteria in crops: achaparramiento del maiz and TuYV in rapeseed.
Another line of research is linked to the study of secondary metabolism in plants and its genetic regulation, in the Cannabis sativa model.
